Lagos, Nigeria – Konfam FM 89.5 Lagos has continued its remarkable rise within Nigeria’s broadcasting industry, surpassing 2.67 million unique listeners while earning recognition as one of the Top 10 radio stations in Lagos according to the Media Performance Survey (MPS) ratings.
The twin milestones represent a significant achievement for the station, which has rapidly transformed from a new entrant into one of Lagos’ fastest-growing and most influential radio brands in just over a year of operation.
A Remarkable Rise in Lagos’ Competitive Radio Market
Since officially launching on April 16, 2025, Konfam FM has experienced exceptional audience growth by delivering a dynamic blend of breaking news, current affairs, sports, entertainment, lifestyle programmes, and interactive discussions, all presented in Nigerian Pidgin English.
Operating under the slogan “We Dey For You,” the station has built a loyal audience by making news and information accessible, relatable, and culturally relevant to millions of Nigerians.
Its rapid expansion reflects a growing preference among listeners for radio content that speaks their language and connects directly with their everyday experiences.
Top 10 Recognition Reflects Growing Influence
Konfam FM’s inclusion among the Top 10 radio stations in Lagos in the Media Performance Survey (MPS) ratings underscores its growing impact in one of Africa’s most competitive media markets.
The ranking highlights the station’s increasing market presence and audience engagement, while reinforcing its reputation as a broadcaster committed to credible journalism, quality programming, and meaningful community interaction.
Surpassing 2.67 million listeners further demonstrates the confidence audiences have placed in the station and its ability to consistently deliver content that informs, entertains, and inspires.
Leading the Growth of Nigerian Pidgin Broadcasting
Konfam FM’s success also reflects the continued evolution of Nigeria’s broadcast industry, where indigenous-language media is playing an increasingly important role in reaching wider audiences.
By broadcasting entirely in Nigerian Pidgin English, the station has successfully bridged communication gaps, making news and entertainment more inclusive while strengthening its connection with listeners across Lagos and beyond.
Industry observers say the station’s authentic presentation style and audience-first approach have positioned it as one of the leading voices driving the continued growth of Pidgin broadcasting in Nigeria.
Looking Ahead
With a rapidly expanding audience, a place among Lagos’ Top 10 radio stations in the MPS ratings, and more than 2.67 million unique listeners, Konfam FM continues to build momentum as one of the country’s most promising radio brands.
As the station invests in innovative programming, community engagement, and high-quality journalism, it is well positioned to strengthen its leadership in Nigerian Pidgin broadcasting while setting new standards for radio excellence in Lagos.
