“IF YOUR GIRLFRIEND IS BROKE AND YOU KEEP COMPLAINING, YOU’RE BROKE TOO!” — OSI-BAZE Sparks Massive Debate Online
Canada-based Nigerian music sensation OSI-BAZE, popularly known as #FAYER, has once again set social media ablaze following a bold statement that has divided opinions across the internet. Speaking during an exclusive interview with the Fresh Prince on Frontier FM, the singer did not hold back as he addressed men’s responsibilities in relationships. “Men should stop complaining about their ladies being broke. It is the duty of a man to support his woman and help her grow. Any man who constantly complains about his broke babe is equally broke and simply living in denial.”
The explosive comment has since become a trending topic, with many praising the artist for speaking what they describe as “an uncomfortable truth,” while others insist his views are disconnected from the economic realities Nigerians face daily. Critics argue that FAYER’s perspective is influenced by his life in Canada and does not reflect the financial struggles of the average Nigerian man. Supporters, however, maintain that a man’s ability to uplift his partner is a reflection of his commitment and leadership in a relationship. When asked what inspired the controversial take, the artist revealed that it was influenced by his latest single, “Complain.” He further encouraged men to embrace responsibility rather than use financial challenges as an excuse. “If you can complain about her situation every day, then maybe you’re not in a better position yourself. Men should man up and stop making excuses.”
As the debate continues to rage online, one question remains unanswered: Should a man be financially responsible for elevating his partner, or is financial stability a shared responsibility in modern relationships? One thing is certain—OSI-BAZE, aka #FAYER knows exactly how to get people talking.
